		<description>I would say that I measure leadership based on the product of two measures:
1) Impact - What change, results, direction, or accomplishments have been made under this leader&#039;s direction.
2) Motivation . Esteem of Subordinates - Without getting into is it better to be feared or loved.  You can usually tell a great leader because their team will climb the tallest mountain for them.  

To be a truly great leader I think you have to be effective on both fronts.  I&#039;m sure other measures could be identified, but I think these are two key ones.  Obviously, both of these require some degree of track record.  However, I think good evidence of this track record gets established very quickly.</description>
